Over 300 participants from all over Ukraine took part in the National Energy Day for Hromadas on 27 November. The event brought together representatives of local government, experts, donors, representatives of ministries, energy companies and financial institutions — everyone who is currently working on Ukraine’s recovery and energy sustainability.
Experts and government representatives discussed ways to develop a decentralised and sustainable energy system for Ukrainian hromadas.
The focus was on local electricity generation, autonomous systems, financing energy projects, and standards for the safe implementation of infrastructure.
The programme was divided into a plenary part and parallel thematic sessions. The discussions focused on the transition of hromadas from emergency solutions to systematic strengthening of energy infrastructure, the development of local generation, renewable energy sources, cooperation models and connection challenges.
The event was organised by UNDP Ukraine and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine in educational partnership with the Kyiv School of Public Administration named after Serhiy Nyzhnyy.
