Where to study if you want to go into public service or politics? A quick surf on Google will show you dozens of courses, schools, and even academies where you will be charged for a wow effect. But if you really want to gain valuable knowledge and a vision of the future, look for courses at well-known universities. One of them is the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. I took this course myself, so I recommend it to you. See you in the course alumni team!

I took a course at the Lee Kwan Yew Institute, which was organized in Ukraine by the Kyiv School of Public Administration named after S. Nyzhnyy. You won't be taught how to make a dictatorship there. However, you will improve your English and get a broader outlook on the processes. Bonus. Good networking. Kyiv School of Public Administration named after Serhiy Nyzhnyy conducts numerous events bringing together lots of cool business people and politicians. Another bonus is that you will have a lot of envious people, whose tears and gnashing of teeth will help you gain energy, rejuvenate and make your smile more sincere and bigger.

In recent years, we have heard a lot about Singapore. Most often it is a myth on top of a myth. For example, we have been told that everything there is super market-based, and we should be like that, and if we sell everything, privatize, deregulate, we will become like them - but in Singapore, more than 50% of the economy is the public sector. And this is a huge driver of Singapore's development. And this is just one example. If you want to break other myths or create new ones;-), I have good news for you. I have a diploma from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore behind me. This program was organized in Ukraine by the Kyiv School of Public Administration named after S. Nyzhnyy. This program is still in effect today. So go for it!)

You can create offices of simple and super-simple solutions, and then look for (and fail to find) simple words to describe why this house of cards is falling apart. Or you can work on your thinking and management tools so that both match the real complexity of the situation. This is exactly what happens at the Lee Kwan Yew School. Of course, no miracle will happen (especially a Singaporean miracle in Ukraine). There will be brain crepitus, but those who endure it will get what comes after intense training - new abilities.

Lectures for the new intake of the School of Public Administration will begin soon. The lectures are delivered by the professors of the Singapore Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. This is not only a great opportunity to communicate with the professors and understand why and how Singapore succeeded and what has been hindering a breakthrough in Ukraine for 30 years. It is also a great opportunity to meet new people and network with people from different fields.

This year I took a course at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and got not only a good knowledge base but also access to an interesting community of intellectuals that is formed by the Kyiv School of Public Administration. S. Nyzhnyy.

I completed my online studies at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Administration in Singapore. Before I write about the school itself, I want to mention the book "Singapore Will Survive" once again. The issue of ethnic hatred has always been a top priority for Singapore's leadership. Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew and his associates believed/believe that the main threat of Singapore's collapse/failure/failure lies in the country's interethnic issue, language issue, and religious issue. "Any kingdom torn apart by strife will fall into desolation, and any city or house where there is strife will not stand." That's just for the day. Now about school. The most important impression, the main feeling that did not leave me throughout the course, is that without going into details, the basic principles are familiar to me, understandable, they are simple. Those who have taken over the reins of Singapore's government have set a goal and are systematically pursuing it, removing barriers and solving citizens' problems along the way. The goal is to be the first in the world. In the economy. In education. In everything! Even in the maintenance of building facades. I really liked the practice of involving critics in the government and the mandatory support of skeptical experts. What is so lacking in Ukraine is feedback, reliance on experts and critics. The absence of feedback makes the government disconnected from citizens, and the government solves its own problems, not the problems of citizens. And people follow only those who are able to meet their needs and see priorities. And Singapore's public administration is aimed at meeting the needs of citizens. I am grateful to the Kyiv School of Public Administration named after S. Nyzhnyy for the online course "Public Administration and Leadership in the Age of Innovation". It was very interesting and informative to listen to those people who teach officials and politicians in Singapore.

I recently graduated from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. While listening to the course, I naturally compared the information provided by our esteemed lecturers with the realities in Ukraine. The success of Singapore lies in the conscious unification of all citizens around one goal: a successful country. Unfortunately, today many Ukrainians live by the principle of "my house is on the edge". That is, here we are talking about something deeper, more important... about the acquired mentality and ideology. Something that needs to be developed in a person from childhood. At the same time, Ukrainians, despite all the restrictions that have been historically imposed, have always preferred to live by the norms of freedom, and individual freedom at that. And this is our true mentality, which is clearly manifested in the first democratic and republican constitution in Europe, drafted by Pylyp Orlyk. "People should not be replaced, but changed" Lee Kuan Yew. Are you ready to change and become part of a single ecosystem to create a successful country?

Our crazy group received diplomas on completion of the School of Ministers course at the Kyiv School of Public Administration. I can't find the words to describe all the transformations and emotions that have happened to us during this time. It is a kind of opportunity to look at the world, at people, and at ourselves through a different lens. It is a wealth of knowledge and skills from our incredible teachers. It is incredible support for each other and incredible people who were completely unfamiliar until recently, and now are like a part of you. This is an incredible atmosphere of comfort, freedom, care and home from our Yulia Polishchuk and Anna Mishchenko. It's when you come with a friend and then write and defend a reform that people are afraid to talk about out loud. This is when you come back to yourself, remember everything you know, realize what you are capable of, and accept everything as it is. It's about love, strength, and the future!!!! Learning is light, not teaching is darkness. After 30 years of managing several businesses and social projects, I began to feel the need to improve my professional skills and personal development. A new page in my life - new knowledge. I entered the Kyiv School of Public Administration named after S. Nyzhnyy for the School of Ministers program. During 7 intense and informative weekends I had the opportunity to communicate with incredible lecturers and find cool friends who motivate me to reach for the stars! Victor Halasiuk - taught us economics and explained about the profession of Ukraine for the economic miracle. Anatoliy Amelin - gave real indicators of economic development and future benefits with specific consistent actions. Piotr Kulpa - cut our minds open with meta-institutional examples and historical events that have repercussions on the current state of our lives and future prospects of Ukraine. Anton Gerashchenko - a man who motivates with facts and his charisma more than Ramstein, with the decision to give us airplanes. Olga Batova - thank you for your constructive approach to transferring knowledge, state-building and all processes in an accessible and detailed form for understanding. Oksana Zaitseva - psychology matters! It is the quality of yourself and the understanding of those around you. Natalia Kryvda is an ambassador of the powerful cultural code of our nation, she breaks through to the very sky, such dedication and immersion in the events of the past and contemporary cultural processes can only be heard from her. Anna Mishchenko is a school director with a big heart, grandiose plans, and excellent organization!

The School of Ministers program at Kyiv School of Public Administration named after S. Nyzhnyy has ended. I thank our powerful teachers and speakers for their experience, knowledge and motivation. Thank you to each and every one of you with whom we studied for your energy, support and values. Thanks to the wonderful Anna Mishchenko for creating a real home-like atmosphere. Thanks to you, the training turned into a meeting of good friends! It was wonderful! But, as our unsurpassed Olha Babiy said, everything is just beginning 😉.

4 months of meetings, events, seminars, discussions, exchanging views and meeting new people. I gained experience and understanding of what I don't want to do and what I do right. My reform of the PPP policy is how our ministers can move from traveling abroad to practice and present the PPP roadmap to foreign investors (more in my article later) In politics? Provided that it is with a team that has decency, honesty and justice in its blood along with mother's milk, otherwise - without me. And most importantly, I like to get out of my comfort zone. I like to meet new people and draw conclusions. This movement in life gives me new ideas and checks my readiness to work on something further I wish victory to all of us! There is still a lot of work ahead...

The war did not stop us. We did it, and we are cool! Each of us has written a reform, but not all of us managed to defend it. We are still working! Those of you who have defended yourselves are supermen! A powerful program and incredibly cool lecturers who not only gave knowledge, but lit a fire in your soul! Thank you so much for your professionalism and support. I really became a different person and I am proud of it! My values, priorities, and circle of friends have changed! Thank you to Anton Gerashchenko and Anna Mishchenko for the incredible atmosphere you have created. The school is gradually turning into a platform for like-minded people to communicate. Everything was great, but there were not enough practical tasks with subsequent testing and conclusions. I would like to see more analysis of the participants' personalities. Who sees whom as whom. And then compare it with the participant's opinion of himself.

Thank you for a wonderful day! I want to share my impressions. I have been working with a coach for two weeks, when we started to analyze what I really "want for myself" and one of the requests was exactly what we discussed in the course, and that is "success" and "recognition". It caught me yesterday, I realized that I am where I need to be and this course is just for me. Thank you for an interesting day, I'm looking forward to new insights!

Greetings, charitable community! Thank you once again for such a professional course from the Kyiv School of Management under the "wing" of Lera Tatarchuk and the team!!! Everything - from the content of the training, trainers, to the organization was at the highest level! The atmosphere at the school deserves special attention. Do not lose it! From the very first step, we plunged into a special story - a story about KINDNESS, PEOPLE, UKRAINE and VICTORY. When these words come first, then there will always be MONEY for all ideas, projects, and initiatives. You have generously shared with us where to look for them and in what direction to move! MAMA CAMP is not a foundation or an NGO. We are not registered. Our volunteer initiative was "born" in the occupation (Berdiansk), at first it was a family shelter and assistance with further evacuation for people from Mariupol, those who fled the bombing, a little later we added humanitarian and psychological assistance to mothers and children. Previously, we could not show openly on social media what we were doing because it was dangerous for us. Now it's a different story. We are on the free territory of Ukraine and we are confident that we will be able to do a lot of useful things for IDP women and children, because there are so many of them and we want them not to lose themselves and have the opportunity to raise children, develop, self-realize, study, work, have the strength and resources to live their lives, taking care of the future of Ukraine and bringing victory closer - each on their own front. So, we are at the very beginning of our journey, this is the FIRST studying with my daughter in Kyiv, and we could not even dream that it would be so high quality, meaningful and in such a cool environment. Each of you has something to learn, and that is very valuable. Special thanks for welcoming a little volunteer to the training group. Lyuba is also delighted) and sends her greetings to everyone! If your projects are aimed at women and children, we are always happy to be of service, to help, if necessary, even with routine operational activities on a completely volunteer basis. Before the war, we had a children's development center, a kindergarten, so we know the specifics of working with children and their parents. We are always happy to be of service in this area. I am very grateful to the staff of Kyiv School of Public Administration and personally to Mr Pavlo Sheremeta for the seminar.
The seminar was not held according to the announced programme, but this is exactly what makes it valuable, in my opinion. Instead of an academic lecture on the Blue Ocean methodology, I personally had the opportunity to go beyond my daily work routine and look at business from a different perspective, to see new tools that allow me to measure my own business from a different angle. In short, this is a practical introduction to the principles of the blue ocean methodology, which is actually the ultimate goal of the seminar.

I am a fan of neuromarketing, I love studying the brain and this course is like a new breath for me, I dreamed of taking the course at least online, but you gave me the opportunity to attend in person! I am delighted.

This course has raised the level of my responsibility for my own psyche, how few people know about the organic changes in the brain that occur under stress.

+ My myths about colour, shape, etc. were dispelled, I realised what plays the biggest and deepest role in decision-making, namely, focus. And it’s not about companies, it’s about human needs.

I took a cool tool for myself, even a test that determines focus, and now I use it to present life insurance policies, I understand what motivation is behind a person, how best to present information and what to say. It’s amazing, because usually you can only guess how it happens.

I am excited about all the information, it is interesting and useful both in terms of marketing and life experience in general

Yesterday marked the end of an extraordinary stage in my journey — the ‘Governance Engineering’ course at KSPA.
It was not just an educational programme — it was a real personal transformation.
It is a little sad to say goodbye to this atmosphere of depth, development and new meanings.
But I know for sure that there is more to come. And it will be even more interesting.
Thank you for every conversation, for every question that changed my thinking, for every step forward.

Finally, I have arrived at my place of rejuvenation and intellectual enrichment!
I am delighted that, although late (the waste recycling plant came first), I have joined the intensive course «Governance Engineering» at the Kyiv School of Public Administration named after S. Nyzhnyy.
An interesting lecture by former Minister of Economy Pavlo Sheremeta on ‘Innovative Management’ — another brainstorming session!
During today’s training, the phrase ‘Cogito ergo sum’ comes to mind, which means ‘I think, therefore I am.’ Only with intellectual enrichment is growth possible!
In conclusion, here is a quote from Thomas Snyder’s book On Freedom (my current book):

I experienced KSPA.
That’s how I respond to friends who ask me where I disappeared to for four months.
Just as every child experiences their first love or teenage crisis, I experienced a major life change.
I came here seeking knowledge.
But in reality, I came here seeking senses.
For people who feel deeper, think broader, and live honestly.
For answers that don’t close questions but tune your inner compass — values, meanings, presence.
And I found much more.
KSPA is not just an abbreviation.
It’s not a school, a community, or a noun.
It’s a state.
A state of love.
A state you want to be in.
Where respect is in the eyes.
Hugs are real.
Words are meaningful.
These four months have been my personal journey.
Therapy, learning, living, rediscovering myself.
I was reborn alongside you.

There was a lot about strategy and how to build
systems that work.

Now it’s time to put it into practice.

How do you spend your weekends? I had the honour of joining a group of people studying at the Kyiv School of Public Administration named after S. Nyzhnyy. The unique project I joined is a training programme called ‘Governance Engineering’. From 17 to 19 January 2025, I attended a series of lectures and participated in interactive classes. All participants discussed contemporary challenges in management, moral and political aspects of leadership, identity, emotional intelligence, and development strategies.
Key topics of the course:
Strategic development of cultural sites. Special emphasis was placed on the example of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve. Studying in a unique spiritual centre that is almost 1,000 years old is a unique experience. How are values formed, what is the Lavra Cross, what does the Diadem of Ukrainian Glory consist of?
Spiritual foundations of management. How the ethos of service can become a tool for improving management practices.
Emotional intelligence. Practices of self-regulation, empathy, and team communication. Business coach Olena Sysoieva spoke about the heart of a future successful leader, what emotional maturity is, and the components of empathetic leadership. Special thanks for the homework assignment, new experience, and a storm of positive emotions.
Philosophy of morality and politics. Approaches to resolving ethical conflicts in management positions. Interests – norms – values. A deep look at things that seem simple at first glance.
Identity and its unexpected and diverse aspects. Where does Ukraine stand in the context of global modernisation? Will the ‘iceberg’ withstand all the consequences of global warming? How can European and Eurasian values be compared? Is our country ready to embark on a path of civilisational change and undergo constant transformation over the next 100 years? In my opinion, every civil servant, regardless of rank, needs deep and fundamental knowledge. Interesting sources for finding answers to all questions and directions for self-development.
Strategic analysis: Ukraine 2030. Long-term prospects and paths for the development of communities within the state. Anatoliy Amelin – geopolitics and Ukraine, financial risks and economic losses, challenges and threats, international relations and global security, demographics, AI technologies and a wealth of unique knowledge… We discussed the place of education in this strategy, its impact and uniqueness.
Our future depends only on us, so let’s create it with our own hands. To be continued…

KSPA is a high-quality platform for acquiring new knowledge in a short period of time, and there is no equivalent in the country today.

A dynamic course with lots of practical work and theory. It gives you a general impression and direction, and most importantly, teaches you how to dig deeper into issues that catch your attention. As a result, you understand publicity and your public image as a whole, and you see clear paths for development and realising your potential.

I liked it. Great organisation of the educational process. Great speakers. I love the filming format. I am very happy that there will be videos and photos from Oleksandr. I really liked the moments when we could get feedback from the speakers — what to improve, what was great (‘blind spots’).

I will start with a negative note: my request, the one I came to the course with, remains unanswered. We were supposed to discuss this topic today, but it is probably not popular, so it was left out. Although I tried to raise it in the morning during a meeting with the first speaker, my question was about how to communicate and how to behave if a meeting with journalists turned out to be unfriendly: for example, should I leave the studio, counterargue, or resort to other techniques that I am not familiar with. However, this did not affect my mood in any way, because I liked everything else, and this is true: Ms Olga did a great job of bringing together interesting lecturers with practical experience. Among them were those to whom I would like to return as specialists for further cooperation. I made new acquaintances from different fields. Moreover, I already told you that I want my sister to also spend a weekend on this course. I will definitely sign her up. So, thank you! If you have a KSPA club for like-minded people, let me know! I want to be a member!

It was a powerful intellectual boost. The lectures are full of examples that provoke you to think more broadly and see systemic connections. Valeriy Pekar knows how to combine philosophy, history, business, and futurology into a single picture that inspires and at the same time makes you question your own patterns. After this course, I look at the future differently — as a space that can be managed, rather than simply waited for.

For me, it was a real reboot. I learned to look at ordinary things (daily work tasks, reading the news, making current decisions) from a different angle through the prism of how it can affect the future and what changes are possible right now. A course that significantly broadens your worldview.
As a skills course, it introduces you to the Forsight model for scenario modelling of the future, including for business. The introduction is reinforced by group practice, which is extremely useful in understanding the specifics of applying the model.
As a lecture course, it offers an extremely broad view of geopolitics, drawing on both a comprehensive historical context and plausible scenarios for the future of countries, regions and the world. It provides an extremely large amount of useful and structured information as ‘food for thought,’ which, I suppose, stays with the listener for quite a long time. It also forms the basis for self-adequacy in the rapid and colourful flow of daily information.
The course exceeded all my wildest expectations.

I am very happy to have taken this course. The first thing I must note is the absolute clarity and comprehensibility of the information and its presentation by Mr. Valeriy. The second is the informative content itself. This training pulls you out of your bubble. Its added value is a vaccine against the potential risks of disappointment and low mood. I really love, appreciate and share the approach of a realistic, critical view of life, but with a place for light along the way and at the end of the road. It is wonderful when a measurement contains breadth of thought, practicality of character, and love, which is a noun measured by its verb. A cool head and a warm heart is an expression that runs through my life. In this course, I felt this manifestation, which brings me back to the words with which it all began about happiness. How can I not add to this happiness the happiness of meeting people who strive for change and development? It is so gratifying to see and feel this movement around me.
